How to prepare for your Brow or Lash appointment

Follow these simply steps to get the best results possible from your next wax appointment.

Firstly, get to know your skincare! It is VITAL that you know what you are using on your skin because there are products/medications that can cause harm to your skin if used when waxing. It is critical that you avoid using products containing the following ingredients for 2 weeks before and after your treatment:

AHAs and BHAs, Vitamin A derivatives, Retin A, Retinol, Steroid creams and Roaccutane.

Let it Grow

Do not maintain your hair growth at home. It is best to leave all grooming to the professionals!

Avoid exfoliating 24 hours prior to appointment.

Although we strongly advise that you exfoliate the skin 2-3 times a week, you must AVOID using any form of exfoliator for 24 hours prior to your appointment. Waxing is a form of exfoliation in itself and it is vital that we do not over sensitise the treated area.

Clean skin only

Please arrive with clean, 'makeup free' skin for the best possible results. Makeup and makeup removers can act as a barrier to the skin and therefore weaken your results.  It is also vital that you do not apply any products to the treated area (unless stated in your aftercare advice) for 24-48 hours after your treatment.

Avoid sunbathing, UV tanning and fake tans.

It is important to avoid any form of heat treatment prior to your wax including sunbathing. Waxing itself is a heat treatment and overheating the skin can course severe irritation. fake tans can cause irritation to the skin and can oxide with certain treatments! (yes that means they can make the treated area go green!)

Remove contact lenese!

If you are having a lash treatment, you must not wear your contact lenses and you must avoid wearing them for 24 hours after the treatment.

Our waxes are 'hypoallergenic' so they can be used on the most sensitive of skins however If you are unsure whether your skin is suitable for waxing, please get in touch with us. We offer patch testing for those with extra sensitive skins :)
